Ideal technical sales representative doesn’t sell products per se, but products that you use in your job.
Job Brief:
We’re looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our team. As a Technical Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating new leads and sales opportunities and working with our existing customers to grow our business. You will need to be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for sales and construction, then we want to hear from you!
Technical Sales Representative Duties:
- Maintain constant communication with current and future clients, maintaining the trust they have in the company and services
- Proactively enter and service sales orders
- Utilize knowledge of industry trends, product capabilities, and service options to generate new business
- Implement new sales proposals, concepts, and strategies
- Develop presentations, demonstrations, and diagrams to effectively communicate to prospects
- Research and source equipment, parts, and supplies, as well as samples, manuals, and other literature
- Create and maintain accurate and comprehensive records
Technical Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- 2 – 4 year college degree or similar required
- Minimum 3+ years’ of experience in technical sales
- Excellent knowledge of computer technology
- Knowledge of general building work or construction industry

Requirements And Skills:
- Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with qualified prospects within assigned territory
- Meet and exceed daily sales goals, establish new accounts, and grow existing accounts
- Make cold calls, develop and qualify leads, conduct presentations, negotiate contracts, and close sales
- Understand, recommend, and professionally sell additional products and services
- Build and maintain competitive knowledge of the market, market conditions, and customer/prospect needs
- Work with managers to ensure customers meet their requirements and expectations
- Meet all company policies, procedures, and instructions
- Provide superior customer service
- Identify and act on opportunities for service and market development
- Sets, attains, and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Report to team manager on a weekly basis
- 3+ Years in outside sales
- Experience preferred but candidates with no experience could be considered depends on skillset and attitude
